Web service using Flask framework for Shortener URLs

Install

Create Virtual env

$ python3 -m venv env

Install requirements.txt

$ source env/bin/activate
$ pip install -r requirements.txt

Initializate the DB

$ flask shell
>>> from app import db
>>> db.create_all()
>>> exit()

Run

$ flask run

Testing using CURL

Create new link

$ curl --header "Content-Type: application/json" --request POST --data '{"url":"http://github.com/"}' http://localhost:5000/

Get all links

$ curl --header "Content-Type: application/json" --request GET http://localhost:5000/

For certain inputs some of the regular expressions used to parse the text could take a very long time due to backtracking. As part of the fix, the email matching became slightly stricter. The various speedups apply to urlize in general, not just the specific input cases.
