The Huna Language
Translates basic English sentences into the Huna language (hoo-NAH).
The Huna constructed language was developed in 2018 by the students of LIGN 5 during Fall quarter at UCSD. In LIGN 5, or "Linguistics of Invented Languages," students wrote proposals for the phonemic and grammatical structure of Huna, and the best proposals were typically voted on by the students to be included in Huna.
As a very brief introduction, Huna is an SOV (Subject-Object-Verb) language where nouns preceed adjectives, articles preceed nouns, and objects preceed postpositions. As a class we developed the phonemic structure, syllable structure, phonotactic scheme, writing system, and sentence structure.
Here is a specification of the language, and here is an Huna dictionary.
The Huna translator can translate compatible written English sentences into their Huna counterparts.
