Django Image Tools is a small app that will allow you to manage your project's images without worrying much about image sizes, how to crop them, etc.. All you have to do is to define your website sizes and filters and the app will do the rest for you.

Django Image Tools uses Travis CI to test the integration with several versions of Python and Django. You can see the list of currently supported combinations on our Travis CI page.
I have a django 1.6.x project using an app that needs south for migrations, but running the south migrate command fails because it can't load the django_image_tools 0001_initial.py migration - this isn't working because it tries to load django.db.migrations, which isn't available until django 1.7 (which hasn't officially been released yet, as far as I'm aware).
Are there any workarounds for dealing with this? Any suggestions about how to proceed?
If django-image-tools requires a minimum version of django, it would probably be good to document in the readme and include in the install requirements.
There were a couple of things that weren't as clear in the documentation as they could have been, although I eventually figured it out.
Here are my suggestions based on my initial experience using the module:
Hi, I believe that on line 376 of models.py imageObject.filename should be filename otherwise calling path_for_image(image) with image.image.name = "hello.png" returns "hello.png.png"
Suggestion/request: it would be helpful if you could add API documentation for the Image model - whatever parts of it you consider to be "public" and not likely to change. The existing documentation covers what you need for admin site integration and using images in templates, but doesn't have enough information if you want to programmatically interact with or create Images.
In this particular case, I was writing south migrations to convert an existing model with an ImageField to use django-image-tools - I got it mostly working (I think), but there was a bit of trial and error to figuring out which fields were required for django-image-tools to be able to do its magic.

Some time ago, pypip.in shut down. This broke the badges for a bunch of repositories, including django-image-tools-2. Thankfully, an equivalent service is run by shields.io. This pull request changes the badges to use shields.io instead.
Unfortunately, PyPI has removed download statistics from their API, which means that even the shields.io "download count" badges are broken (they display "no longer available". See this). So those badges should really be removed entirely. Since this is an automated process (and trying to automatically remove the badges from READMEs can be tricky), this pull request just replaces the URL with the shields.io syntax.
I'm getting an error on the south migrations with django 1.9 (although weirdly it doesn't happen with 1.7 or 1.8). Looks like it would be pretty simple to update/rename the migrations to keep the existing south migrations and add new django-style migrations based on the documentation here:
